Reflections Blog

Every so often, I share my reflections on the deeper aspects of life — where theory and emotion meet. These musings explore the complex questions of existence, offering a space for introspection and growth. They’re not about answers, but about sparking curiosity and inviting us to reflect on our own journeys.

Forgiveness

One of the most important things that we can want in life is the ability to forgive ourselves: the ability to go deep inside and wash away the residue of all those things that we have done, the ability to find that space where we can say that we are good enough, that we are fine enough, that we can succeed in whatever we do. But the only way we bring ourselves to such a place of inner peace and understanding is to have certainty that regardless of what we might think and regardless of our situation in life, we are exactly where we need to be at every moment in time. Indeed, everything we experience is either to usher our soul forward on its path, or to allow us to learn something from whatever it is that we are going through.

Compassion as a Life Practice

In the world we need this more than ever !!! It does not matter what path we follow, be it Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, or Islam. Our spiritual teachers embodied the same message which was a signal for life’s greatest purpose. Buddha said, “Consider others as yourself.” Jesus said, “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” Mohammed said, "That which you want for yourself, seek for mankind...wish for your brother what you wish for yourself." Hillel said, “That which is odious to you, do not do to others.”

The Bounce

When we throw a ball against the wall, we know for certain that the ball will bounce back. When we “throw a ball” of caring for someone else or of being there for someone when we don't want to be, we need to understand that this ball, too, will bounce back. Our blessing is the ability to know with absolute certainty that anything positive we inject into someone else's life will bring positivity back to us, while anything negative we inject into someone else's life will cause negativity in our own.
